Depp-licious

This Newsweek article includes a quote from Freddie Highmore, who plays Charlie in the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie:
"People say 'Do you like chocolate?' and I say 'It's fantastic!'" says the 13-year-old, who also starred with Depp in "Finding Neverland." "But I think Johnny's even more fantastic than chocolate."
Johnny Depp, better than chocolate? Yeah, I have to agree.

Now that's popcrazy.

If you have ever wanted to express your pop culture love through choreography, you should check out the Harry Potter Dance Team. It has Harry Potter and twirling and leaping and ribbon dancing to the tune of various pop hits. Judging by the number of comments on that page, it's been around for a while, but I had never seen it until I found a link on this girl Michèle's blog a few minutes ago.

Are you M-K or A?

I just retook the Mary-Kate and Ashley quiz I wrote (a year or so ago?) for The-N.com and discovered that it's horribly outdated. There's even a Brad & Jen reference. But at least I got this little image to post on the blog:

Unpopcrazy confession

I haven't been watching TV lately. Does that make me a pop culture failure?

I literally haven't turned the TV on in weeks. Yesterday, I felt like watching an episode from the Entourage DVD I got for my birthday, and I ended up watching it on my computer because turning on the TV felt like too much work. I do like Entourage, but maybe that's because it doesn't feel like TV to me. (I don't have HBO.)

The anti-TV feelings started creeping up around a month or so ago. I realized one day that I didn't care about watching the finales of Lost or The O.C. or Desperate Housewives, even though I had been watching the shows religiously all season. Suddenly, they felt like a big waste of time.

My TV-lessness was completely unintentional. It's not like I made some life decision to stop watching. I used to turn my TV on every day, even just to watch a Seinfeld rerun as I ate dinner. Now, I don't.

Beauty and the Geek and Me

I resisted this show originally because of the whole Ashton Kutcher thing, but now that the pickins are slim in TV land, I ended up catching an "encore" of the second episode tonight.... and it's actually not as stomach turning as I thought it would be. It's awfully sentimental, and you almost feel as though you've learned that stereotypes are bad. Of course, like every "reality" show, it has to be taken with a grain of salt, and I feel like some of the guys really aren't THAT geeky.... and some of the beauties aren't THAT gorgeous. But it is a rare show that will make you feel both smarter and more attractive while watching it.

Guess Which Movie

I love movies, but I don't remember them very well, so this Yahoo Pick of the Week is way too hard for me.

Guess Which Movie shows you four images from a movie, and then you have to identify the movie. It's multiple choice, but there are multiple choices, so my pitiful guesses didn't get me far.
