ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT :: FOX Broadcasting Company

Take the Arrested Development Loyalty Oath, and then check out this NY Times article about how the campaign to save the show was set up by Fox.
The network set up a site at www.getarrested.com, where visitors are urged to sign an "Arrested Development Loyalty Oath." Signatory fans pledge their "never-ending loyalty and allegiance to the best comedy on television today."
Weird, huh?

Librarian II

I am way too excited. The Pretty in Pink sequel rumors were a bad April Fools joke, but I just heard that TNT is making a sequel to their awesome TV movie The Librarian: Quest For The Spear. If you haven't seen the original, keep an eye out for airings -- it's like Indiana Jones and Romancing the Stone got together and had a slightly geeky, made-for-TV baby! It stars Noah Wyle as a librarian who lives with his mom and leads a very boring life, until his new job leads him on a series of wild international adventures. If you don't believe me when I say it's awesome, read some reviews by real librarians.

Have you ever wished someone would make a documentary about how Hollywood portrays librarians? Well, it's already in the works.

Mama Britney

If you can tolerate the Flash overload that is Britney's
new website, you can read the official message in which she and Kevin Federline (ugh... every time I picture him in my head, I make a face) announce that they're having a baby. I just heard the news, so I have nothing clever or witty to say. I'm still kind of shaking my head.

Mary-Kate and Ashley in YOUR room!

In case wearing MK&A clothes, lip balm, and perfume while watching their movies isn't enough, everyone's favorite twins now have a whole line of furniture. If you're really a fan, you'll need that big storage chest to hold all your Mary-Kate and Ashley themed mementos. Ooh, here's a video clip about the collection and how it reflects Mary-Kate and Ashley's sense of style. (It's boring and not really worth watching.) They don't appear in the video, except in a still photo, but maybe that's because they're off somewhere designing an MK&A hybrid car... or a line of prefabricated MK&A dream homes... or a set of adoptable MK&A clone babies!

NOT Prettier in Pink

Here's a news update for everyone who's been telling me that a Pretty in Pink sequel is on the way: It seems it was all an April Fools Day joke started by comingsoon.net. The British press took it seriously and reported it as real news. (other mentions are here and here.) I'm glad it was all a big mix-up, because now I don't feel quite as bad about missing such big teen movie news.

Dead Celebrity Soulmate Search

Normal online dating is so boring. Wouldn't you rather be matched up with a dead celebrity? Someone at A&E is finally putting all their biographical research to good use. Answer a few questions at this site, and you'll get matched up with the historical figure of your dreams. My matches seemed strangely appropriate -- if I had lived at a different time in history, I might have gotten all crushy on Edgar Allan Poe, James Baldwin, or Vincent Van Gogh. Mmm...so dark and arty! (If you can't tell who your love match is by the cute username or list of interests, "make a move" on him/her to get a real name.) This site is SO much more fun than working, and it avoids all the drama that tends to accompany living, unfamous boys.

Rockin' out in Louisville

Where have all the bloggers gone? Well, now I know where one of them is: Former (?) Popcrazy blogger Maurice, a.k.a. Peter Berkowitz, has launched a new blog for his music reviews. It's got everything from Dolly Parton to Prodigy, and those are just the P's...

Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights

While doing some Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights research earlier today, I discovered that several reviewers share the same opinion:

"Somebody, please put this baby in a corner."
-- Nell Minow, MOVIE MOM AT YAHOO! MOVIES

"It may have been better for this "Baby" to have been left in the corner."
-- Michael Elliott, MOVIE PARABLES

"You can definitely put this movie in the corner."
-- Pete Croatto, FILMCRITIC.COM
