Celebrity Encounter: Alexis Bledel, a.k.a. Rory Gilmore

The Encounter:
I was going to co-produce my friend Anna's movie. So I attended her crew meetings. She had recruited a few [NYU] underclassmen as PAs and one of them was Alexis. She was incredibly sweet and quite enthusiastic about the project. I spoke to her at a couple of meetings and she was very real, very likable. We both backed out of the project because we didn't have time... I because I was drinking heavily and she because she had been cast in some WB television show.

How sure are you that it was in fact actually Rory? And not just a look-alike?
It was her. Before she was famous! I was more suspicious when Anna told me that she was in a TV show. "What? She was cute, but . . .really?"

What was she wearing?
An astronaut suit. No not really.

How close did you get to her?
Within a foot!

What celebrity would you most like to have an encounter with?
Does Terrence Malick count? He's pretty reclusive to be a "celebrity." Wong Kar-Wai? Chow Yun Fat? Grant Morrison? Alan Moore? I guess Chow's the only real celebrity in that list unless you're as geeky as I am.

How has meeting Alexis Bledel changed your life?
Now I know someone on TV. Well, "know" is a pretty strong word. Also, she gave me a magic ring with which I fight crime.
